Department Information:

The Math & Stats department has a page on their website, linked below, on the Graduate Handbook. The bottom of section 6 in the handbook outlines the comprehensive exam (qualifying exam + oral exam) that Ph.D students in both Mathematics and Statistics are expected to pass in order to be considered a Ph.D candidate. A database of all previous qualifying exams is also included.

Community Resources:

In the drive below are resources that students who have previously passed the qualifying exam have shared with us. These resources include worked solutions to old qual problems, and are largely unedited. As such, there may be mistakes and/or typos.

We aim to add to and edit this drive, and include a variety of things that may be helpful. If you have things that you would like to see, or that you would like to share with future students, please send us an email and thank you so much!
